One Child
Finally Torey had met Sheila's Father, big man over six feet tall, heavy set with a huge belly that slopped over his belt, only one tooth on the bottom and very evil smelling breath. He had nothing good to say about Sheila. He did not even want to claim her, he said "She ain't really my child, that bitch of a woman who's her mother, that's her bastard." He kept going on and on how she disliked sheila and her ways. How he had never met a child like her, one who causes trouble all the time. I feel really bad for Sheila, she really has nobody in her life to give her guidance or to show her whats right or wrong. I kinda expected her father to be that way just by how she was in the book. IT seemed no one can control because no one ever did. She was abandoned and had to fend for herself so she never really trusted anybody. Now that she has Torey, she has someone to look up to and learn from. Sheila continues to improve as well as getting along with others in class. Im hoping as I read further that her life would get better and that she has someone who would actually take care of her.

The Glass Castle
The book starts off about this girl and upbringing. She was boiling some hotdogs in the late morning in her trailers small kitchen. She was still wearing her pink ballerina dress that stuck out like a tutu, which she was spinning around in front of the mirror earlier thinking she looked like a ballerina. At this time she was about three, a little young for cooking but her mom thought she was mature enough to handle cooking. Next thing you know her dress caught on fire and was rushed to the hospital. She had a few good burns but nothing she couldn't handle. She enjoyed being in the hospital, because everyone was so nice and she never had to worry about running out of stuff like food or ice cream. She also had her first experience with chewing gum which she was stunned by the sharp sweetness. Her parents were not your typical parents, lets just say they had interesting ways of dealing with life in general. She had two other siblings Lori and Brian, i felt that was in the same boat as her just going with whatever their parents wanted them to do. They would visit her all the time, her mother didn't like that she chewed gum because it was a disgusting low class habit, her dad almost got into a fight with the doctor because didn't like the fact that she had bandages on her burns because he said burns need to breathe. A few days later her dad came in and snatched her from the hospital without consulting the doctor. Once she had got home the first thing she did was cook more hotdogs which is weird because of what happened, but she seemed fascinated with fire. She would steal her dads matches and burn them behind the trailer. Everything was back to normal until one day her dad came in the middle of the night hollering that they need to pack up because they are hitting the road. I feel like this book is going to be about her interesting adventures with her parents and I'm very interesting about there first adventure.

One Child
Torey had gone along way with Sheila but she still had two major problems that was bothering Torey. First she still refused to do paperwork, she would crumble it up, scribble all over, and just gaff it off. Sometimes she would pretend she's doing the work but her work would never make it to the correction basket. This made Torey very angry and debated if she should come at her a different way, a way to force her to do the work. This did not go very well and Sheila just refuses to do paperwork. The other problem she had was she would retaliate against other kids. One time a kid kicked snow on her and she tore up all her artwork that the other kid loved so much. I believe in sheila though she had improved so much and you can't expect a young child like her especially what she has been through to change in one day.
One Child
Sheila had gone a long way from when she first came to class. She started to participate with class activities and was much more obedient to Torey and her aides. Torey was so glad on how far she came and was proud of herself for being patient. As the days passed, Torey was curious about her relationship with father so she decided to meet with him. There was only one problem, he was never home and very hard to get a hold of. I am curious as well how is her relationship with her father, in the book she talks about how her father loves her and would never leave her but she is still the way she is. Sheila would come to school with the same clothes and smelling like she hasn't showered since the first day of class. Torey became concerned about her hygiene as well as the other kids. So, Sheila would come and hour and a half early to school which gave Torey enough time to clean her up as well as change her clothes. As the days continue she was less made fun of about her smell and the other kids were also praising her for not smelling bad
